We are currently looking for an Electrical Estimator to be based in Dubai. Candidate should have at least 5 years minimum experience as an Estimator and should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Qualified 17th / 18th Edition British Standards and/or American Standards.
The selected candidate must be able:
Effectively interpret the client requirements for each new solicitation.
Undertake detailed electrical systems engineering designs and costings for solicitations to include:
Accurate determination of labor, material, and equipment.
Prepare and submit a detailed Bill of Materials, including specifications and relevant standards to the Procurement department within agreed timelines.
Low and medium voltage solutions, to 17th / 18th Edition (British Standards) and relevant international standards.
Alternative, viable and sustainable solutions to increase company competitiveness where possible.
Design work will include developing and submission of concept designs.
Contribute to Technical methodology statements
Prepare and submit solicitation clarification questions within 5 days of review.
Cooperate with the Bid Manager in all Bid Handover workshops and lead the Electrical submission overview ensuring all key details are presented.
When required, provide detailed engineering designs and drawings that are suitable for construction, with all supporting calculations.
When required, provide rapid and accurate support to construction/facilities teams.
Regularly updating cost databases to accurately reflect fluctuating material and labor costs.
Evaluating labor and material costs to determine whether it is more feasible to construct electrical components or sub-contract the construction of components.
Research all available options and prepare a cost-effective, efficient Electrical solution for each proposal.
Keep abreast of all developments within the electrical and mechanical industry.
Multi-disciplinary engineering coordination will be required.
Cooperate with the Bid Manager in all Lessons Learned exercises, and incorporate amended processes, policies, and procedures into future Technical and Commercial proposals.
