The Chief Accountant is generally responsible for handling the full spectrum of Financial and cost accounting activities with expertise in a variety of corporate accounting practices, including overseas payroll and taxes.
Responsibilities: The Chief Accountant is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Manage and oversee the entire accounting Team
Perform financial analysis and report to management as needed.
Preparation of accurate monthly/quarterly management reports and accounts ensuring they are produced on a timely basis. To include KPI reports, budget prior year variance analysis, statistical data, and trends.
Coordinate with the Finance team to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
Supervises and participates in the preparation of financial statements and reports. Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
Evaluate computerized accounting systems and provide recommendations to the IT team for performance improvements.
Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures. Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.
Generate financial reports and statements to Managers for review.
Analyze financial discrepancies and recommend effective resolutions.
Monitor expenditures, analyze revenues and determine budget variances and report the same to management.
Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.
Provide guidance to other Accountants when needed.
Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts.
Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation.
Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.
Qualification / Education Level:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) / CA / ACCA is a Must

Thorough knowledge of advanced accounting procedures and principles
Highly detail-oriented and organized
Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees. Able to motivate Team and lead by example
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced knowledge of accounting software and programs
Experience:
10+ years post qualification experience
Logistics, Oil & Gas, and/or Defense industry experience
Emerging/Frontier markets experience
Proven experience in managing a team of 5+ members
Must be willing to travel to remote sites (Iraq, Somalia)
