Equitrans is looking for an experienced Airfreight Professional with customer service and airfreight operations skills to handle import and export shipments of key customers.
In this role we are looking for someone who understands the day-to-day operations of freight forwarding, air charters and can manage key customers by providing a dedicated personalized service. The Airfreight professional will oversee A-to-Z of shipments and special projects and work in conjunction with a team of air and road operations ensuring their shipment of horses or live animals “shipped as booked and delivered as promised”.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records using company accounting software.Prepare asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and reconciling account information.Monthly preparation of financial statements, including income statements and cash flow statements.Summarize financial status by preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other statements.Verify, allocate, post, reconcile, and follow up on accounts payable and receivable.Settle all accounts payable invoices, including job-related expenses, credit cards, vendors, and other bills.Review, collect, and manage accounts receivable.Manage and reconcile all company bank accounts and credit card transactions.Handle monthly payroll, overtime, allowances, reimbursements, and petty cash.Coordinate shipment process from cost validation to billing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT & corporate tax) applicable to the business.Prepare for internal and external audits by organizing accurate financial records.Generate error-free accounting reports and produce regular financial statements.Analyse financial information and monitor cash flow.Identify errors, suggest improvements, and ensure legal compliance.Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.Support month-end and year-end close processes.Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.Ensure compliance with industry regulations and legal obligations.Perform other ad hoc tasks and reporting as required by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma.5 years Gulf experience.Arabic or Spanish speaker is an advantage.Extensive Administration and Operations experience.Service-minded with a positive attitude.Strong people management and communication skills.Demonstrated empathy and respect for others.Previous experience in logistics or freight forwarding an advantageExceptional attention to detail and high administrative skillsExcellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesEffective communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in MS Office and experience with a logistics software.Certification in logistics or supply chain management is an advantageCommercially savvy with a proactive approach to identifying upselling opportunities.Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods and thrive in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.Availability on mobile after office hours for emergencies involving live animals.Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic nature of logistics and live animal transportation.
