Responsibilities and Scope

Lead EF’s thematic work on regenerative agricultural practices:

Strategic development – drive EF’s global strategy and develop its service offering related to regenerative agricultural practices and support thereby EF’s global impact targets;
Best practice development – establish a knowledge hub on successful approaches applied by EF, lessons learned from implementation on the ground, tools, success stories, guidance, etc;
Guidance and technical advice – act as a key advisor to EF teams on any technical question related to the respective thematic work. This includes advise on tools, services, work plans and overall field implementation;
Business development – Lead and support the revision of proposals, the development of project ideas, communicate EF’s service offering to clients and partners and drive partnerships at global level;
Internal capacity building – Create and animate an internal network of thematic contact points for EF’s agricultural work; foster internal experience sharing exchanges and implement internal capacity building on the wider topic of regenerative agricultural practices;
Impact measurement – Guide and support EF teams on impact measurement;
External communication – Contribute to the EF communication strategy and realize external communication activities on EF’s work related to regenerative agricultural practices;
Scope of work under regenerative agricultural practices: Regenerative practices (rotation, intercropping, sustainable soil management, etc.), best management and environmental practices (organic fertilizers, reduced chemicals, etc.), holistic and diversified farm management including development of model farms, agroforestry (i.e in tropical areas), technical support to farmers (i.e. smallholder farmers) in form of training and coaching, support to farmers in access to inputs including technical support by third parties

Act as programme manager of selected projects and support field teams in project implementation:

Support teams in work plan development;
Ensure timely delivery of project outcomes;
Act as contact point for funders/donors;
Prepare and /or revise project reports including reporting on key impact indicators.

Requirements – Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications

You thrive on human relations and are able to explain your field to a variety of audiences. Your expertise in the field and the strength of your proposals make you a valuable asset to a team.

Master degree holder or other equivalent higher-level training in agronomy, land management, horticulture, or any other related field;
At least five (5) years of experience in work with farmers, i.e smallholder farmers, agriculture supply chain management, farm management or any other relevant activity in the agro-industry,
Experience in project management
Experience in acting as technical advisor in agronomy;
Experience in working with teams across the globe and in a multicultural setting;
Experience in working with business and their supply chain operations, preferably in the palm oil, cocoa, rubber, pulp & paper or coconut sector;
Business sense and financial acumen;
Public speaking, organizational skills, critical thinking, analytical skills, data analysis;
Leadership capability;
Good computer skills in Microsoft Office Programme suite etc;

Language skills

Proficiency in English;
Any other language, i.e. French, Spanish, Bahasa, Portuguese, an asset.

Working conditions / Physical effort

Based in one of our EF offices with preference for a country where there are relevant projects and activities in the field of regenerative and sustainable agriculture
Available to undertake international trips, i.e. to remote areas and for up to two weeks.
